Decifoot is a measurment which attempts to be as flexable as the metric system but uses the FOOT as its base unit.
The rub comes in converting from and to inches using this standard. There is no good way to do this.
Certain things to consider:
Table to convert Decifoot (1/10 of a foot) to inches:
Table to convert Decifoot fractions to inches:
Table to convert Inches (1/12 of a foot) to Decifoot:
A FOOT is used as a metric METER, it is divided using the decimal system.
You can relate to this by viewing the first division as a Decafoot (divides the foot into 10 equal parts).
The next division would be a centifoot (divides the foot into 100 equal parts).
After that, dividing a foot by the next power of 10 would give millifoot (divides a foot into 1000 equal parts).
