Have you heard of the Appleseed Shoots?

The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from being a simple rifle owner to being a true rifleman. All throughout American history, the rifleman has been defined as a marksman capable of hitting a man-sized target from 500 yards away — no ifs, ands or buts about it. This 500-yard range is traditionally known as "the rifleman's quarter-mile;" a rifleman can hit just about any target he can see. This skill was particulary evident in the birth of our country, and was the difference in winning the Revolutionary War.

 • Caliber .223/5.56mm AR15 Carbine-style rifles (e.g. 16” barrel, fixed or retractable stocks)

Another of the ISRA "fun" matches.
This is a CMP Qualifying Match.
A great way to experience rifle competition.

Fee: $25 in advance, $30 late or day-of.

  • Aug 22 - ISRA Women's Introductory Pistol Class - ISRA Range - Bonfield

Cost: $40 - No FOID Card Required - No Experience Necessary
Class size limited to 24 participants. For ages 16 years and older. Guns and ammo are supplied.

In this class you will receive:
- Basic firearms safety instruction
- Basic marksmanship instruction
- Certificate of completion

  • Aug 29 - Annual Sighting-In Day - ISRA Range - Bonfield

Open to the public.
ISRA or Range membership is not required.
Come out to the range and sight in your shotgun, rifle, pistol or muzzleloader.

  • Aug 30 - ISRA Doughboy Match - ISRA Range - Bonfield

1. All Unclassified Shooters MUST attend Match and Range Safety Orientation.
2. Current CMP Competition Rules, Rule 9.3 Springfield Rifle Match.
3. Target pits will be used. Shooters will pull targets and perform scoring duties.
4. Rifles allowed: “Any safe rifle” may fire this match, but rifles in competition for honor
of being named Match Winner must be “As-Issued, Model 1903, Springfield Rifle”
(not Model 1903 A3), no National Match parts, no heavy barrels, no glass bedding,
triggers must lift 4½ lbs.
5. No armor piercing, incendiary or tracer ammunition.
6. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL WEAR EYE AND EAR PROTECTION!
7. Cash prizes awarded for Match Winner, High Junior & High Senior.

  • Aug 30 - ISRA Glock League Match - ISRA Range - Bonfield

If you've never experienced shooting competition and you have a Glock pistol, this is a great way to get started.  The ISRA-GSSF Glock matches at the ISRA Range are well attended by novices, casual shooters, and seasoned competitors alike, you never know who will turn up!
