Fellow Law-Abiding Gun Owners:

Certainly all of you have heard about the horrific crime that was committed late last week at Fort Hood. Now that our nation has had a bit of time to heal, the gun control opportunists are coming out of the woodwork to attack you, me, and our 2nd Amendment. Earlier this week, the King of All Gun Control Opportunists – Chicago Mayor Richard Daley – used the most incomprehensible logic to place the blame for the Fort Hood crimes on you, the law-abiding gun owner.

Quite frankly, Mayor Daley's recent remarks about the Fort Hood crimes are completely off the wall – even by Richie Daley standards. But I may be wrong. So, I'm going to ask you, a law-abiding gun owner, to choose the statement which best fits your point of view:

A. The Fort Hood shootings were a result of the “easy availability” of firearms in the United States. The Fort Hood shootings cannot, and should not, be blamed on any particular group or philosophy.

B. The Fort Hood shootings happened because a religious zealot who hates everything America stands for consciously decided to walk into a room full of unarmed people and shoot to kill as many as possible.

If you chose answer “A” then you are in agreement with gun-grabbers like Barack Obama, Sen. Dick Durbin, and Mayor Richie Daley.

If you chose answer “B” then you are in agreement with a majority of Americans who believe that our very way of life is under attack by forces who want to see our Constitution and our American way of life destroyed.

It is important for you to keep in mind that many of the key players in the Illinois General Assembly would most certainly select answer “A.” They believe that lawfully acquired firearms are the root of crime, violence and about every other social problem you can think of. You can bet your bottom dollar that these gun grabbers will be charging hard next Legislative Session to find new and creative ways to take your guns away from you. They will most certainly use the Fort Hood murders as justification for yet another round of senseless gun control.

If you believe strongly in what the 2nd Amendment stands for, they you know that this is a battle worth fighting. The ISRA's ability to fight, and win this battle depends greatly on how well-funded we are. That is why we need your immediate financial help.
